The temple stands on the site of the cemetery that already existed during the construction of the Izhevsk factory and the dam, on which the Trinity Chapel was located.

The cathedral was built for almost 40 years at the expense of the workers of the Izhevsk factory, who transferred 1% of their salary for the construction.
